| Overview : Electronic Health Information Network (eHIN), is a Ministry of Health supply chain project supported by UNDP financially and technically. The Project operates using Logistimo IOTA application called eHIN. The application is used to manage supply chain data for health commodities across the country. The project started with three Districts in 2020 - Rumphi, Ntchisi and Blantyre. And later rolled out to the remaining 25 Districts and Regional and National Vaccine stores. The application is used to order, issue, disperse, track stock, and manage supply chain data. The project supports the MoH in improving on real time data for informed decision on health commodities, transparency and accountability and commodity visibility. The output of the project is that real time data is accessed on health commodities at all tiers across the country for informed decision. This helps to reduce expiry and overstocks. The project supports the achievement of health commodities. The eHIN Application is used on phones and computers. It is cloud based. For an eHIN user to access the application and/or load transacted data, they need to be actively online. The internet data bundles will enable them to be online to provide the much-needed real time data. MoH District Coordinators frequently interact with eHIN project staff to timely resolve implementation hiccups. To do this, they are supported with airtime. |
