| Overview : The Environmental Affairs Department in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining and UNDP with support from Global Environment facility (GEF) are developing a project entitled: Transformational Adaptation for Climate Resilience in the Lake Chilwa Basin of Malawi (TRANSFORM). The project aims at reducing the vulnerability of communities surrounding the Lake Chilwa to the adverse impacts of climate change such as …drought? by strengthening the resilience of livelihoods through Ecosystem-Based Adaptation and providing financial supports to local companies that are tackling climate change issues. Following GEF’s approval of the PIF, a project preparation grant has been secured by UNDP to support in the formulation of a full-size project.
The project formulation will include conducting relevant technical studies and reviewing to establish the baseline and conducting situational analyses; stakeholder consultations; defining implementation arrangements and confirmation of co-financing. |
