Overview : This recruitment has been cancelled. National Consultant to facilitate the National Consultations in the context of the United Nations Transforming Education Summit in Mauritius Background A Pre-Summit will be organized in Paris at the end of June 2022 to harness the evolving discussions and generate greater momentum in the lead up to September. In Mauritius, the Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology will act as the National Convenor for the Consultations for the Transforming Education Summit. Five groups will be set up to discuss each of the five thematic areas. A National Steering Committee will be set up to guide the process and prepare for the Pre-Summit in June 2022 and Summit in September 2022.. Objective of the Assignment The main objective of this consultancy is to support and facilitate: i. the national consultations for the Transforming Education Summit; and ii. the development of National Statements of Commitment to Transform Education in Mauritius Scope of Work - Prepare and facilitate the consultations on the 5 thematic groups to be conducted in a hybrid mode (Both face-to-face and virtually). This includes inter alia the preparation of the guiding questions and list of participants in consultation with the International Consultant and the facilitation of the discussion as well as ensuring the smooth running of the consultations.
- Prepare a summary report for each of the Thematic groups that sets out the overall expected result (i.e., desired changes and transformations), challenges, opportunities, and possible solutions.
- Prepare a comprehensive Report of the findings emerging from the national consultation process
- Prepare and facilitate the validation of a final report of the national consultations on Transforming Education in Mauritius
- Prepare a Succinct (2-3 pg) National Statement of Commitments that will capture the key areas of national commitment to action that emerged from the national consultations.
- Provide technical support the National Steering Committee
