| Overview : The objective of this consultancy is to support target LoCAL countries to: - Objective 1: Develop concept notes to vertical funds (incorporating the LoCAL mechanism) in support of existing or candidate LoCAL countries;
- Objective 2: Develop full-fledged project funding proposals (incorporating the LoCAL mechanism) in support of existing or candidate LoCAL countries;
- Objective 3: Develop technical annexes of funding proposals and oversee the development of other technical annexes that require additional expertise;
- Objective 4: Develop GCF readiness proposals for LoCAL pilots and/or capacity building support in areas of relevance of LoCAL work;
- Objective 5: Provide Accreditation support to candidate National Implementing Entities of vertical funds, in particular the GCF and AF, in target countries.
The assignment will focus its activities primarily on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and African Nations, where demand for LoCAL is growing exponentially. Support in this specialization will be required for all LoCAL country initiatives in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Pacific as well as for the UNCDF’s regional and global offices for thematic activities related to climate finance.
