Description of the Assignment: The consultant will work under the supervision of the Development Economist and closely collaborate with the UNDP internal team and external partners, including the Tourism Productivity Nexus and MPC. Their responsibilities include:

The consultant will develop workshop designs and modules, offering methodological advice to achieve desired results. This includes integrating the 2030 SDGs Game into the workshops. They will facilitate the first workshop and lead group discussions on sustainable tourism topics, ensuring effective group dynamics, focused learning, and comprehensive summarization of findings for UNDP's policy advocacy efforts. For follow-up sessions, the consultant will train industry players on sustainable practices agreed upon with UNDP and TPN. This includes topics such as community-based tourism, sustainable business models, waste management, and human resources. They will also monitor trainees and implement mechanisms to increase interest, such as competitions or games.

The consultant will submit a report on the initial workshop, leading to the design of subsequent workshops. They will also provide a post-report containing observations, recommendations, and gaps between future visions and current efforts. This will include suggestions for future programs, policy advocacy, and potential inclusion of tools, best practices, digital solutions, and policies.


Period of assignment50 working days (between 15 April until 30 November 2024)
