Overview : Under this setting, the scope of assignment shall include the following; • The consultant shall provide high quality translation services upon receipt of the service request form from the UNDP (i.e. Project staff) stating the deadline for submission of the translation. • The estimated volume of the translation services will be 3500 (+- %10) pages in total during the 4 months of the contract and is subject to modifications upon emerging needs of the project. • The source language (the original language of the document sent to the consultant by the project staff for translation) of the document will be either English or Turkish and the target language (the language requested for the documents to be translated into) will be Either Turkish or English. Therefore, the consultant should meet the translation needs for these languages. • In the process of translation of the source document (document provided by UNDP to be translated) to the target language, the consultant shall:  Translate the documents in accordance with grammar, spelling, rules of target language and UN jargon. The consultant shall ensure that the target document is meaningful, accurate within the context and wordings are used correctly such as idioms. Upon award of contract, UNDP will provide the consultant with a glossary regarding the frequently used terms within the scope of the ICOISS Phase II Project.  Use machine translation and/or computer software i.e. all types of non-human translations only for assistance to the human translator. Machine translators cannot substitute human translators.  Comply with the page design of the source document especially when the text contains numbers, formulas, remarks, tables, graphics etc. The paragraphs and columns/rows of tables shall be numbered equally.  Treat all information provided in the translated documents as business sensitive and confidential. The consultant shall not disclose any information provided by UNDP for any purpose.  Shall be liable for the quality of the translations it delivers in and shall warrant that the translated files will meet UNDP’s specific requirements in terms of correctness and accuracy i.e. target documents shall be error-free.
