| Overview : UNDP has been implementing Promotion of Development and Confidence Building in CHT project through CHTDF since 2003. The project has strengthened the socio-economic development mechanisms through basic service delivery, capacity building, community empowerment and building confidence among the diverse stakeholders at all levels for self directed development. In 2009 the project started a new phase with an overall objective to create enabling environment for ensuring social justice, political, and civil liberties for the ethnic people. Consequently, the CHT institutions and stakeholders need to enhance their advocacy capacities in order to engage constructively with the government to achieve these objectives. The advocacy strategy will not only focus on policy analysis, research and lobbying activities but also provides adequate attention to mobilization strategies such as public education, awareness raising, leadership development, and coalition building. |
