Overview : CALL FOR PROPOSALS The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) in Georgia opens call for project proposals. Funded projects should contribute to internal and external capacity building of applicant organization as well as non-governmental and community based organizations working in environmental field (both GEF SGP grantee and non-grantee organizations) in following direction: communications and outreach (organizing PR event, producing case studies and lessons learned materials), strengthening organizational administrative, financial, reporting, and technical skills and knowledge, strategic planning capacities, Gender mainstreaming. Only legally registered community-based organizations (CBO) or non-governmental organizations (NGO) operating in country territory are eligible to apply . Priority will be given to experienced organizations, which are having working experience in organizational capacity building field as well as implemented projects in this direction. The maximum grant amount per project is $19,600 ; project duration should not exceed two years. Main requirement of GEF is provision of 1:1 co-financing ratio (50% in cash and 50% in-kind) at the portfolio level. At initial stage, interested organizations are asked to provide short project proposals/project concepts not exceeding 2 pages. Project concepts should contain information about: aim, objectives, expected results, planned expenditure, co-financing sources and methodology; Please underline how can the project impact on environmental NGOs/CBOs capacity building. Shortly indicate background information about your organization. Each organization can submit no more than one project concepts either in Georgian or English languages. Project concepts might be sent via email ana.shubitidze@undp.org or submitted in hard copy to the attention of GEF SGP National Coordinator at Paliashvili 15, floor 4, no later than COB of December 19, 2014. Late applications will not be considered. Organizations will be notified about approval of project concepts; notified organization could submit full project proposal either in Georgian or English languages. In order to ensure high quality of both project concepts and proposals that they were in line with GEF, global project document and country programme strategy requirements, SGP Georgia office will ensure weekly consultations with interested organizations during the project concepts and proposal development phase. Consultation will take place every Thursday from 15:00 at Paliashvili 15, floor 4. Please call in advance and inform National Coordinator about your participation.
