Overview : Candidates who previously applied need not re-apply. The Government of Malaysia with the assistance from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is desirous of engaging a suitable candidate/institution/company (hereby referred to as National Consultant) to assist in undertaking surveys to assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) on awareness on the subject of access to biological resources and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilisation (ABS). Malaysia has obtained funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to develop a national legal and institutional framework on ABS under a project titled ‘Developing and Implementing a National Access and Benefit Sharing Framework in Malaysia’. The Project’s Goal is to contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of globally significant biodiversity in Malaysia. The Project Objective is to strengthen the conservation and sustainable use of biological and genetic resources in Malaysia through developing the national framework for the implementation of Access and Benefit Sharing under the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
