Overview : Prospective bidders are advised to take note of the extended submission deadline to 30 September 2016 The Government of Zimbabwe in partnership with UNDP, has formulated a three-year support project (2016-2018) titled “Deepening the Foundations for Peace, Dialogue and Social Cohesion in Zimbabwe”. The project draws from the Constitution of Zimbabwe’s provisions for peace, unity and stability. It is a response to the Government and the United Nation’s joint commitment to strengthen the national peace architecture in the country as outlined in the ZUNDAF 2016-2020 and further fleshed out in the UNDP Country Programme Document. Output 2 of the Deepening the Foundations for Peace, Dialogue and Social Cohesion Project seeks to enhance the capacities of the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission [NPRC] pending the enactment of the NPRC bill into law. The NPRC is an independent commission with a constitutional mandate to promote peace and facilitate reconciliation as a strategy for consolidating social cohesion and democracy in the country. As a newly established Commission, there is need to enhance its capacities in the following Four thematic areas: - Leadership Development, Team & Cohesion Building [This will also include trust, confidence and consensus building capacities]
- Organisational Development including reflection on key organisational systems for effective performance and delivery of results
- Reflection on Peace and Reconciliation Practice capacities. This will include key aptitudes and competences for effective peacebuilding. Focus will be placed on convening and facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue and mediation processes; initiating and sustaining confidence and trust building measures; Stakeholder engagement and Partnerships Development.
- Coordination and Collaboration for effectiveness with a strong focus on the thought process around Strategic Planning
The Capacity Building Experts will be expected to design and deliver tailored training targeting the NPRC on the following 4 key areas: - Leadership Development, Team & Cohesion Building [This will also include trust, confidence and consensus building capacities]
- Organisational Development including reflection on key organisational systems for effective performance and delivery of results
