The Support to the Electoral Cycle in Jordan, funded by the European Union and UNDP, consists of technical and material electoral assistance on key areas related to strengthening the institutional and professional capacities of the Independent Election Commission (IEC). The IEC is responsible for managing and overseeing the conduct of parliamentary elections that took place on 20 September 2016, as well as for municipal and governorate council elections scheduled for 2017. The project is actively engaged in supporting the IEC in its preparation for and implementation of these elections, with specific assistance on the areas of electoral operations and communications. In the light of a new electoral framework and the upcoming municipal and governorate council elections, the SECJ project is seek to contract a Senior Translator / Interpreter to assist the SECJ’s translator in translating documents with electoral terminology and Provide interpretation in official meetings between UN and IEC officials. The Advisor will work closely with the project Senior Translator and under the supervisor of the CTA.
