| Overview : The Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) is a United Nation’s initiative that seeks to achieve universal access to modern energy, double the rate of improvement of energy efficiency and double the share of renewable energy in the global mix by 2030. Along the global objectives, Uganda has set its SE4All Action Agenda in the following three goals: - More than 98% of Ugandans with access to electricity and more than 99% of Ugandans using modern cooking technologies;
- Wood fuel consumption is reduced by 40% and energy efficiency is improved by 20%;
- Renewable energy sources are diversified and contribute to more than 90% of Uganda’s electricity mix and 38% of the thermal (heating purposes) energy mix.
The above objectives of SE4All are consistent with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 7 which is to ‘ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern for all by 2030’. Given the above background, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) through the SE4All Secretariat seeks to recruit a consultancy to develop a SE4All website for Uganda that will collate together energy related information from various players in the energy sector and provide updated information on the SE4All targets in the country. Main Objective: Development of the SE4All website and online community action which will provide a platform for interaction and information sharing among all those interested in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of Uganda’s progress on achieving the SE4All initiative. |
