BACKGROUND :

Since March 2017 UN Women Bangladesh is implementing a Project to Empower Women to build Peaceful Communities. The project is developed with the premise that if women are politically, socially and financially empowered they can make significant contribution in building a resilient and peaceful communities.

As part of the process Un Women is also supporting the Government of Bangladesh in preparation of National Action Plan on Security Council Resolution 1325. UN Women is hoping that through their facilitation, Women’s/Women’s groups’ participation in the development process will make the NAP more participatory and gender responsible.

To increase public awareness for Women’s role in building Peace and Social Cohesion and as a part of the ongoing project titled Empowered Women Peaceful Communities, a social advocacy programme is being envisaged which will be developed from the evidence based learning from the current project. A  multi-media social campaign under the banner of শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতিতে নারী will be developed.

UN Women Bangladesh Office is looking for qualified Social Communication Companies who are experienced in designing , developing and organizing events and handing mass audience to raise a social awareness.

OBJECTIVE :

 To raise the public awareness on Women Peace and Security on International Women’s Day 2018.

SPECIFIC TASK FOR THE MEDIA FIRM/CONSULTANTS

In consultation with respective unit, the Contractor will be required to :

1.            Design, host and maintain 7 bill boards on Women Peace and Security for one year.

2.            Develop, Compose and Record with tracks the theme song শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতিতে নারী by popular artist / Band who has a big youth followers base.

3.            Choreograph a flash dance on the theme song and conduct flash dance in 7 locations on 8th March in 8 Divisional cities. ( Khulna, Barisal, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet Chittagong, Dhaka)

4.     Organize 2 hour open air concert with the theme song Band/artist on IWD 2018.     

5.       Design and Develop, Print and Distribute 2000 4 color bilingual flyers on Empowered Women Peaceful Communities for awareness raising during flash dance and concert.

6.           Make written report with full video and still photographic documentation of 8th March’s all events. 

CONTRACT SUPERVISION

UN Women Bangladesh has overall management of the work of the contractor. Under the overall supervision and direct consultation with the team, the contractor is expected to deliver quality outputs.

DELIVERABLES

The media firm/consultants are required to deliver the following :

Billboards

  • Develop contents and design for 7 different billboards with the recommendations in NAP-WPS for each division as provided by UN Women.
  • Set up the billboards at selected locations (in front of District Commissioner’s Office or District Court or Bus terminals)
  • Maintain the billboards for 1 year and share photos of the billboards with UN Women every month as an evidence or further record keeping.

Thematic song

  • Compose  lyrics for an appropriate thematic song on শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতিতে নারী
  • Selection of two aritist/band to record the song
  • Recording of the song with full music track by UN approved popular artists (1 Male, 1 Female/band )

 

December 2017

Flash mobs

  • Choreograph a flash mob dance on the thematic song at prominent points of 7 divisional towns and Dhaka city.
  • Organize 7 flash mobs in 7 selected divisions on 8th March International Women’s Day, 2018; (each mob team  must consist of at least 30 youths (M-15, F-15) of ages between 20 to 25 years.)
  • Video and Photographic documentation of the entire process.

Concert

  • Organize one open air  concert (shouldn’t be longer than 2 hours) with the two singers at the Gulshan Youth Club, Dhaka or suitable venue.
  • Decorate the venue with traditional and Programmatic decorations
  • Video and Photographic documentation of the entire process.

  • Design, Print and Distribute Women Peace and Security Flyer on 8th March.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE OF THE MEDIA FIRM

The media firm will be required to have ;

  • 5-10 years of experience to work in similar field.
  • Extensive experience in managing events for UN organizations/for development organizations with the aim of reaching both local and international audiences.
  • Experience in working with international organizations and /or international donor and NGOs might be preferred.
  • Excellent technical capacities like inhouse graphic designing to ensure smooth and high quality production.

DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT

6 months (October -March 2018)

COPYRIGHTS

  • UN Women will reserve the copyright of the Producer Materials.
  • UN Women should be permitted to use the video without a time limit.
  • Contractor may be allowed to use the video only in their portfolios and with UN Women’s written permission.
  • UN Women can provide the video to other UN organizations or the media at no cost, as is the practice.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

The media firm payment shall be based on the financial proposal developed for this assignment.

Entire payment will be processed upon submission of prefixed deliverables and final report.
