Overview : The project “Vietnam POPs and Sound Harmful Chemicals Management” is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The goal of the project is to continue to reduce environmental and human health risks by reducing emissions of POPs and hazardous chemicals. The four main components of the project are: • Component 1: Policy framework for sound chemicals management, including POPs/PTS developed and implemented • Component 2: Monitoring and report of POPs and PTS • Component 3: Management of contaminated populations • Component 4: National mercury baseline inventory and release reduction strategy In order to achieve the objective of the project, UNDP will recruit an additional local individual for the position of interpreter and project secretary capable of supporting the implementation of the project activities.
