| Overview : The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Planning and Development of Trinidad and Tobago in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The project will enable Trinidad and Tobago to prepare and submit its Third National Communication (TNC) and First Biennial Update Report (BUR) to the Conference of Parties (COP) of the UNFCCC in accordance with its commitments as a Party as mandated by Article 12 of the Convention and subsequent COP decisions. The TNC shall be based on all relevant COP decisions for National Communications of Non-Annex I Parties to the UNFCCC especially its decision 17/CP.8 and the First BUR will be based on the obligations to the Convention under Decision. 1/CP. 16 par. 60 and Decision 2/CP. 17 par. 41 and its Annex III. One component of the project is to prepare a national greenhouse gas inventory, which will entail the collection of relevant data and which will also take into consideration the National Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system. |
