Overview : - Background
Botswana Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association (BEAPA) is a not-for-profit professional organisation registered under the Societies Act. The Board of the Association was established through Section 20 of the Environmental Assessment Act, 2010 as the body corporate that governs the Association. The purpose of the Board is to regulate the quality of environment assessment practice in Botswana through registration and certification of practitioners for both environmental protection and public good. BEAPA is committed to ethical and professional practice in all its operations and acknowledges that it has a social responsibility to care for the interests of present and future generations, thus subscribing directly to sustainable development. BEAPA is governed by its constitution that was promulgated in 2010. After nine years of existence, the association wishes to review its constitution, to align it with current contemporary trends and concepts. BEAPA therefore seeks to engage the services of an Individual Consultant to carry out the review and updating of the current BEAPA Constitution in consonance with the provisions of the Environmental Assessment Ac, 2010 as well the ensuing Environmental Assessment Regulations of 2012 |
