- Background/Context for required services/results
The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (UN Women) has been created to accelerate progress in meeting Women needs around the world. UN Women supports Member States in adopting international standards to achieve gender equality and works with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programs and services needed to ensure the effective application of these standards and that women and girls benefit from it everywhere. The Agency works globally to make the ambition of the Sustainable Development Goals a reality for women and girls and to support the equitable participation of women in all aspects of life. Its intervention focus on five priority areas: - Strengthen women's leadership and participation;
- End violence against women;
- Women Peace and Security and Humanitarian action;
- Strengthen women’ economic empowerment ;
- Frontier issues
- Gender coordination in development and humanitarian contexts
UNWOMEN 'programmatic approach is based on its Strategic Note, written on a multi-year basis. It constitutes the frame of reference for its interventions over a specific period in a given country. Extended over a period of one year (i.e. the whole of 2021), the Cameroon Country Office's 2018 - 2020 Strategic Note identifies six key priority areas listed above. This Strategic Note is operationalized through annual work plans based on national priorities and the availability of resources. This operationalization is carried out jointly by the country office and the Responsible Parties (RP). UNWOMEN Cameroon is now launching a call for expressions of interest for the selection of partners such as Civil Society Organizations (NGOs, Associations, etc.), and Community-Based Organizations in order to establish a map of potential partners by thematic areas to support the Country Office in the implementation of its 2021 Work Plan. - General Overview of services required/results
