1.     PROJECT BACKGROUND

a.     Project description

The project is in two parts, the Rehabilitation of water storage tank and rehabilitation of the main water pipelines for Old and new Abbasi water project. The project belongs to the Hawija water directorate. To provide drinkable water to Abbasi Sub-District citizens.

b.     Beneficiaries

                                                    i.     Direct beneficiaries 28 employee (28 male) and 18,000 individual population of Abbasi Sub-District as (40% male and 60% female).

                                                  ii.     Indirect beneficiaries Population of Hawija district 325,000 (40% male and 60% female).

c.      Impact and how it will be measured (quantitative measures) after completion:

After constructing the new Storage tank, the drinkable water will be supplied to people 24 hours.

 

2.     LOCATION

The project is located inside Abbasi Sub-District, Hawija-District, Kirkuk Governorate. Coordinates: 35.275761, 43.596451

 

3.     BUILDING/CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION

The project consists of two parts: a water storage tank (capacity 550m3) and a set of intake pump, Horizontal pump multistage and distribution pipe.

 

4.     DESCRIPTION OF THE DAMAGE

The area was overrun by ISIL in June 2014, which resulted in the coalition carrying out airstrikes resulting in damaging networks and storage areas. In addition to that, the pumps are looted, the tank collapsed, and several chemical parts are damaged and in need of replacement. The site needs cleaning along with the settling tanks that are in need of epoxy paint, a new ductile pipe from the intake to the collection tanks is required with all associated works, set of intake pump and Horizontal pump multistage should be supplied.  

 

5.     WORKS ON BRIEF

The rehabilitation work includes civil, electrical and mechanical works.

  • The Civil part of the works includes but not limited to Site preparation, Soil Investigation, Excavation Works, Filling works, Construction of Reinforced Concrete Above Ground Tank 550m3, Tank lining Epoxy coating, Pump Shed, Re-Construction of Transformer Room and staff room as indicated in the BoQ.
  • The Electrical works include but not limited to Socket Switch, Fluorescent Lighting LED Type, Bracket waterproof wall, Sub Distribution Boards, Split Unit Air-Conditioning, Power Cables, Pipe Earthing System, Transformer (1000) kVA, Circuit Breaker 3 pole 1000 A for Distribution Board (Tr.1000 kVA) and Main Distribution Board as indicated in the BoQ.
  • The Mechanical Works includes but not limited to Supply of intake pumps, supply of Horizontal pump multistage, Dis-assemble, transport, and re-install split case pumps Horizontal pump split case, Carbon steel pipe header DN250, Washout, disinfection, and Lab. Test, Valves and pipe installation for concrete Storage Tank and fittings, accessories and testing of all pumps.

 

6.     DURATION OF THE PROJECT
