Introduction :

Scope of the Tender

The Polish-UNDP Partnership: Innovative Solutions for the SDGs aims to respond to the development challenges by transferring Polish expertise and innovative solutions for SDGs to partner countries.

The objective of the Polish Challenge Fund is to facilitate the transfer of Polish know-how and innovative solutions that would address development challenges in the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and North Macedonia and contribute to the achievement of SDGs.

The eligible applicants include Polish private sector and academia (universities and research centres). The applicants are required to engage local partners to assure viability in local conditions and to promote the sustainability and scalability of the solution. Partnership with the local partner needs to be presented in the form of a letter of cooperation, memorandum of understanding or similar document signed by both parties.

Development Challenges: 


1- Green Technologies and Energy Transformation:

Improving the current state of green technologies and other smart and sustainable solutions with a special focus on the energy sector, with positive and immediate impact on local communities and industries.

2- Digital Innovations for Good Governance and Smart Cities:

Developing digital and smart public services and goods, including the use of open-source tools and smart technologies to improve and support public services delivery, increasing people’s engagement, enhancing transparency, accountability and inclusion to make life better for local communities in partner countries.

3- Innovative Organic Agriculture:

Increasing long-term productivity with a special focus on innovative agro-technologies and smart solutions for agriculture, improving access to markets and competitiveness of organic agriculture actors such as farmers and producers, while contributing to climate smart, regenerative agriculture.

Improving sustainable agriculture practices through innovative agro-technologies and smart solutions that help transform to a climate and nature positive, human-centred, regenerative agriculture.

4- Resilient Society:

Encouragement of economic growth and mitigation of negative impacts of economic crises in the sectors of market, employment and other, as well as economic recovery and resilience, preferably based on green and circular economy.   Strengthening the resilience of vulnerable communities in reducing their climate risks and vulnerabilities through innovative nature-based solutions and consideration for gender equality and social inclusion.

Expected date of contract start: December 2023/January 2024

Expected length of contract: up to 10 months, but not later than 31 October 2024

Estimated prize: Ranging between US$20,000 and US$40,000, the applicants provide co-funding of at least 20% of the total cost of the project.
