Introduction


Strengthening the Engagement of Men and Boys to Prevent and Intervene SGBV Issues.

The project titled “Ensuring Justice for Victim-Survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in Sri Lanka". The project envisages empowering women, girls, and gender minority parties, including SGBV victim survivors.  Project works to ensure access to justice, demand for better service delivery, and have a society free of SGBV.

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE 

The primary objective of this project intervention is to increase gender equality and protection for women, girls, and gender minority groups. This project will be implemented under Pillar 3 that focuses on prevention. One of the key outcomes of this project intervention to increase the capacity of women, men, girls, boys and their activism to change the norms of the community. They will be enabled to take collective action against SGBV in the broader community. This assignment will directly contribute to the achievement of the outcomes of Pillar 3. of the project.

The main objective of this assignment is to strengthen engagement of men and boys to prevent and intervene in SGBV issues and related programs.  

Scope 
 
Expected Outputs:
 
•       Strengthen and expand the existing structures for engaging men and boys at national and district levels. Initially with four districts, namely Monaragala, Hambantota, Anuradhapura and Nuwara Eliya

•      Develop an analytical framework and knowledge base on deconstructing patriarchal masculinities. (Building upon UNDP led visual media on Equal Partners & SRHR education materials)

•       School based programme on reflective journal writing (with 8 schools in 4 selected districts using tools that are field tested)
