Country:   Eswatini

 

Description of the Assignment:  UNDP is engaged in improving human development in Eswatini by supporting programmes/projects focussed on improving governance, gender equality, environmental conservation and poverty reduction through policy research / advocacy and directly supporting the community development. The Country Programme (2021 – 2025) maximizes the UNDP integrator role in supporting the Government in leaving no one behind and strengthening institutions to reach those furthest behind first by:

(a) Providing thought leadership in integrating policy design and implementation with capacity development of front-line institutions, in partnership with national and United Nations partners 

(b) Focusing on normative inputs to uphold human rights-based approaches while offering innovative “next generation UNDP” solutions which ensure that women, persons with disabilities, persons living with                    HIV/AIDS, the poor and marginalized groups receive support 

(c) Strengthening public sector institutions by applying an intersectoral, issue-based approach; (d) Facilitating innovative financing options, technology-based solutions and innovations led by the Accelerator Lab. 

(d) Bringing to bear the UNDP global and regional networks of expertise to strengthen resilience to drought, climate change, vulnerability to poverty and the impacts of COVID-19.


The total financial outlay for the Country Programme during 2021 - 2025 is US $29,713,000.


 

Period of assignment/services 30 working days
