PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan (UNDP), in partnership with government agencies such as the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the FWC MENR RK), is implementing the GEF-UNDP project “Conservation and sustainable management of the key globally significant ecosystems for obtaining various benefits” (hereinafter referred to as the Project), aimed at the conservation and sustainable management of forest resources.

The purpose of the Project is to improve the system of conservation and management of forest resources and adjacent meadow, floodplain and desert ecosystems, which are important for the conservation of biodiversity, land resources and the well-being of the local population.

Component 3 of the Project considers the use of a variety of approaches to ensure knowledge management and documentation of the best practices for snow leopard populations, including based on monitoring data, scientific materials, scientific research, mapping, as well as using specialized technologies.

Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.

Программа Развития ООН в Казахстане (ПРООН) в партнёрстве с государственными органами как Комитет лесного хозяйства и животного мира Министерства экологии и природных ресурсов Республики Казахстан (далее – КЛХЖМ МЭПР РК), реализует проект ГЭФ-ПРООН “Сохранение и устойчивое управление ключевыми глобально значимыми экосистемами для получения различных выгод” (далее – Проект), направленный на сохранение и устойчивое управление лесными ресурсами.

Цель Проекта заключается в улучшении системы сохранения и управления лесными ресурсами и прилегающими луговыми, пойменными и пустынными экосистемами, важными для сохранения биоразнообразия, земельных ресурсов и обеспечения благосостояния местного населения.

В рамках Компонента 3 Проекта рассматривается применение разнообразных подходов для обеспечения управления знаниями и документирование лучших практик по популяциям снежного барса, в том числе на основе данных мониторинга, научных материалов, научных исследований, картирования, а также с применением специализированных технологий.
