National Consultant support innovation activities relate youth&plastic pollution

Introduction

Country: Vientiane, Capital Laos with travel required. 

 

Description of the Assignment: The Consultant will work with the UNDP Accelerator Lab, under the supervision of the Head of Solutions Mapping. The consultant is expected to be responsible for the following tasks:

Task 1: Support the development and finalization of the UNDP Lao Country Office’s youth portfolio 

The Consultant will work with the youth portfolio’s core team and relevant units to:

· Consolidate the information generated through the youth portfolio development sessions and the sensemaking boot camp.

· Coordinate with all units within UNDP CO and map opportunities to integrate youth components in existing and pipeline projects

· Support the production a set of presentation slides and a summary paper of the UNDP Youth Portfolio tailored to different audiences (general public, government, development partners, CSOs, NGOs, etc.)

Task 2: Support the implementation of the plastic-free office and meeting guidelines.

Using the plastic-free meeting guidelines developed by UNDP, the Consultant is expected to:

·  Explore opportunities to scale up the existing guidelines to promote plastic-free offices and meetings within UN Agencies, Implementing Partners, and other Development Partners.

·  Coordinate with other UN agencies at the UN House to ensure plastic-free offices and meetings.

·  Plan and produce social media posts and blogs to promote plastic-free offices and meetings.

Task 3: Support the implementation of the Ending Plastic Pollution Innovation Challenge (EPPIC): 

The Consultant will coordinate with different stakeholders including the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Incubator, UNDP, and the applicants to ensure the quality and timely delivery of project activities, which include

·  Conducting a field visit to Kaysone Phomvihane City, Savannaket Province

· Organizing a final pitching competition

· Creating and implementing a communications plan to showcase the project milestone achievements.  

 

Period of assignment/services: 60 working days.
