UNDP Suriname is currently seeking a qualified local company to undertake Renovation, Expansion & Upgrade services of NCD Office Building in Nickerie. The project is part of the 2nd GCCA+ Project in Suriname, which aims to support the country in adapting to the impacts of climate change. The overall objective of this 2nd GCCA+ project in Suriname is to support the country in adapting to the main effects of climate change by improving management of water resources and coastal ecosystems in ways that increase the well-being of coastal communities through gender responsive capacity enhancement. One specific objective is the improvement of national governance in the areas of Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) and Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). The construction works will contribute to this objective by providing operational support for the execution of policies and measures on the ground through small infrastructure, specifically the renovation of the NCD office building in Nickerie in support of the Ministry of Land and Forest Management – Forest Management (LBB) Nature Conservation Division (NCD).
