Rehabilitation of Various buildings in Mocímboa da Praia Cabo Delgado Mozambique 6 Lots

1     INTRODUCTION

This Executive Project Description and Justification refers to the rehabilitation of various infrastructures in the district of Mocímboa da Praia. The implementation of the project will be in the form of ITB (Invitation to Bid), which consists of the rehabilitation of several infrastructures in a single project, in this case with different Lots.

Lot 2 Rehabilitation of The District Health Services (SDSMAS)

Lot 3 Rehabilitation of the 30 de Junho Health Center

Lot 4 Rehabilitation of The Border Police Command

Lot 5 Rehabilitation of The Municipality Police Building

Lot 6 Rehabilitation of The Civil Registry and Notary Building

Bidders are advised to visit the site, familiarize themselves with each building, and take any measurements they deem necessary, as claims of unfamiliarity with the site will not be accepted. The method of measurement for all items will be based on actual dimensions, openings are deductible, and all calculations per m². The contractor shall submit all necessary details (shop drawings) and update all progress of the work as directed by the UNDP Civil Engineer. All Payments must be submitted along with shop drawings and measurement sheets that are checked and approved by the UNDP Engineer.


2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The proposed project is within the scope of the Stabilization and Recovery programme that aims to rehabilitate infrastructures destroyed by the armed attacks, and the District Government emergency response plan. Therefore, UNDP supports not only in the rehabilitation, but also in improving the structural quality of the proposed infrastructure.

The UNDP team carried out several visits to explore the site and assess the damages, meet with the relevant authorities at technical level and district government, and together was drawn up an action plan for the implementation of the project. The main interventions will consist of general cleaning around and inside the building, including removal of asbestos, bushes, grass, and all solid waste; repairing the walls, including filling the cracks, plastering and painting; Coating the floor, including installation of tiles; repairing and supplying a new roof structure, including supplying a new false celling; repairing and supplying windows and doors; electrical installation; repairing the water and the sewage network.
