Introduction
Nepal has National Climate Change Policy, Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plan and Low Carbon Economic Development Strategy to achieve its climate mitigation and resilience need and implement climate responses at the local and national level. Being a party to the Paris Agreement, Nepal has committed to achieve net zero emission by 2045. It is important to have clear understanding and vision to translate the climate agenda into action at the national and local level.
The proposed capacity building workshop will help enhance understanding among the Provincial Climate Change Coordination Committee members of the climate agenda, their contexts and Nepal’s position to make the targeted stakeholders well familiar with climate financing mechanism and rolling out of Climate Change Financing Framework (CCFF) into the targeted provinces by virtue of which they could prepare annual plan and program, keeping priority to climate risk and responding to it.
