Introduction
Introduction
UNDP partnership with PWA intends to carry out a pilot project for supplying and installing of at least 100 smart mechanical water meters (water meter and Electronic Data Capture (EDC) module); (meters’ description Annex A) and 100 pressure sensors for online monitoring of water meters; enabling remote monitoring of the water flow rate and readings of water meters, and installation of data management system at PWA offices. The Smart water meters and pressure sensors will send data via Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) to a predefined IP address of a server, on which a Management System for data will be installed. The data (which includes, water meters live readings during specific intervals, water flow rates, water pressure at each water station, and status of the batteries for each meter/sensor) is sent to the Management system to be installed at a server located at PWA/WBWD. The sent data, from all meters and pressure sensors, is accumulated, stored in the data base, and integrated together before being processed by the Management software, a PC based application, and/or a mobile application, which enables data interpretation, analysis, visualizing and reports generation. The management system must have the features of parameters setting, adaption and modifications. The management system will be installed at a Server located at PWA/WBWD office and is capable of processing the data received from the Smart water meters and pressure sensors, interprets it to visual data, performs analysis of data, produces various types of charts and produces various statistical reports. The management system must have an appropriate data protection and security features.
