| Introduction : Country: UNDP NIGERIA Description of the Assignment: The objective of the GEF PPG is to develop the project concept into a full project: Accelerating Nature and Climate Action to Advance Nigeria’s Net Zero and ‘30x30’Targets in Nigeria. As described in the project concept (PIF/child project concept note), this project aims to support Nigeria in strengthening and bold nature-positive climate projects/programs that can help Nigeria towards achieving her net zero climate and biodiversity conservation goals. The potential of the project to achieve global environmental benefits across biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and restoration of marine ecosystems. A. The upstream component with its focus on establishing and strengthening national governance structures and building consensus needed to achieve NZNP solutions will have a national scope. B. The downstream component will support five (5) projects – two conservation and restoration projects and three clean energy investments – in different locations in the Niger Delta Period of assignment/services: 14 weeks (with possibility of extension) 1. Purpose of the assignment: Under the oversight/guidance of the PPG Team Leader and in close collaboration with other PPG consultants and PPG team members, the Finance and Private Sector Engagement Specialist will participate in and support the project development process, research, and the preparation of the ProDoc/GEF CEO Endorsement Request package, providing expertise relevant to innovative finance and private sector engagement.
