Description of the Assignment:  

The Palestinian artisan sector is at a critical juncture, grappling with neglect, limited market access, and intense competition, both among local producers and mass-production markets. Despite its potential to meet the growing global demand for sustainable products, the sector remains largely untapped due to challenges in market linkages and limited grasp of the ethically and sustainably-driven high-end market. Recognizing these issues, UNDP/PAPP is facilitating the establishment of "House of Crafts" (HOC) to serve as a vital intermediary, facilitating market access and resources for Palestinian artisans. However, to unlock the full potential of HOC and the artisan sector, the assignment seeks to engage a sourcing expert to provide specialized guidance, enhance sales and marketing efforts, and foster strategic growth, thereby addressing these critical challenges and fostering the sector's sustainability and success in the global market.

Period of assignment/services:  The intended assignment is estimated to be 50 working days level of effort over a period of six calendar months.
