Introduction :

The Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network (BES-Net) is a global initiative that strives to build capacity and accelerate coordinated action of policymakers, scientists and practitioners for biodiversity conservation.

The project supports countries in translating the latest assessments, guides and tools generated by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) into tangible action at regional, national and local

levels to help deliver healthier and more resilient ecosystems. BES-Net is hosted by UNDP’s Nature Hub team based in Nairobi, Kenya, and implemented within the framework of UNDP’s Nature Pledge and by a consortium of UNDP,

UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC) and UNESCO with the financial support of the Government of Germany and SwedBio.

The purpose of this assignment is to provide professional services in designing and facilitating multiple on-site/virtual events in/for the target countries and regions by undertaking the following steps and continuously reviewing/refining the

Trialogue methodology based on the experiences and lessons from previous events held in the respective countries/regions.

Common across the consultation meetings, regional community of practice meetings and the National/Regional Trialogues is the engagement of a diverse set of stakeholders. They may include policymakers from governments, scientists from

academic and research institutes, indigenous and local knowledge (ILK) holders from indigenous and local communities and other experts from development cooperation organizations working at global, regional, national and local levels.

The contractor is expected to apply various tools and approaches, which ensure inclusive dialogues and respectful collaborations of all the knowledge systems and holders. In this regard, special attention is required to the meaningful participation of

the Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the events by following the key principles and procedures.
