Description of the Assignment: Victims’ Psychological Support Expert

Duty Station: Office-based; the Office of the Prosecutor General, Kyiv, Ukraine

Period of assignment/services (if applicable): January - October 2024

Main objectives of the assignmentThe overall objective of the deployment of the Expert is to provide office-based technical support and mentoring to the Specialised Unit on CRSV in the Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) of Ukraine and to promote survivor-centered investigations and prosecutions of CRSV cases.


The National Expert on Victims’ Support will be responsible for conducting the following activities:
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and mentoring to the Specialised Unit on CRSV in the OPG on issues pertaining to the physical and mental health of CRSV witnesses and victims.
  • Assist the Specialised Unit on CRSV in the OPG with the development of psychological techniques to address circumstances that give rise to specific vulnerabilities, facilitate support for individuals affected by trauma, and promote survivor-centered investigations and prosecutions.
  • Develop and implement protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure the well-being of witnesses and victims engaging with the CRSV Unit.
  • Participate in investigative missions, as required.
