Description of the Assignment:  SDG AI Lab – NLP Consultant for Tanzania and Malawi (2 positions)

 

Period of assignment/services approx. 200 days each within February 2024-February 2025 


The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) is the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) global organization mandated to leverage the role of the private sector in development. ICPSD supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. ICPSD is the parent organization to SDG AI Lab and its one of the founders and the host. The Lab has a mission to strengthen UNDP’s internal capacity for the increasing demand for AI/ML-based solutions. The SDG AI Lab provides research and advisory support through cutting-edge digital solutions in harnessing the potential of advanced technologies such as

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and GIS for sustainable development. The Lab aims to strengthen the UNDP’s internal and its partners’ capacities for the increasing demand for digital transformation. These capacities will be essential in partnering with global tech leaders for advanced solutions.


SDG AI Lab follows an agile approach for small R&D teams. The lab implements research activities with task-based, time boxed iterations, and relies on asynchronous cooperation to be most effective in a remote team collaboration environment. SDG AI Lab is implementing AI powered Tourism data analysis project in Tanzania and Malawi. The lab will hire 2 consultants to support each country’s implementation.

 

Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.
