Introduction
The objectives of this consultancy are to (1) conduct VAs in the agriculture, livestock, fisheries, coastal and marine, water, health, tourism, wildlife, and infrastructure and human settlements sectors, and (2) develop a methodological tool for conducting climate vulnerability assessments. The assignment will be carried out in both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, with a focus on nine sectors (livestock, fisheries, coastal and marine, water, health, tourism, wildlife, infrastructure, and human settlements). Furthermore, the consulting firm or research institution will be expected to determine the geographical scope by conducting an initial climate change vulnerability and risk assessment using existing models under various climate scenarios (national, sectoral, and community levels) or global warming potentials, in accordance with existing reports, strategies, and plans. Further, consideration of other non-climate factors will be required when deciding on the scope. The consulting firm or research institution will be responsible for proposing the most detailed and appropriate qualitative and quantitative methodologies for undertaking the assignment. However, the approach should include desk reviews, stakeholder consultations, and field studies.
UNDP Tanzania is looking for a company/firm to undertake a consultancy service for conducting sectoral climate change vulnerability assessments for Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar.
