Introduction : This call seeks to convene new research, in the form of background research papers, to inform the 2025 HDR. The 2025 HDR will explore the intricate dynamics of digitalization, including artificial intelligence, within the framework of human development, addressing its profound and multifaceted impacts on society. With a people-centered approach, it will critically examine how digitalization can either amplify or mitigate existing inequalities, reshape political landscapes, and redefine economic structures. Interested Bidders are expected to present a full research statement outlining the proposed paper. Priority topics include: Understanding human development and digital technologies linkages, moving towards people-centered digital technologies Harnessing the potential of digital transformation to expand capabilities, reduce inequalities, and advance human development throughout the lifecycle of a person Exploring how digital technologies reshape economic and political processes, identifying policy and governance needs and innovations
Period of assignment/services: 01 July 2024- 30 November 2024 Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline of 10 June 2024.
