Introduction :

SCOPE OF TENDER

The primary objective of this assignment is to pilot climate change resilient agriculture and natural resource management practices in two (2) gram panchayats (GPs) in Puri District of Odisha. The aim is to demonstrate integration of localized climate change science with traditional knowledge base to achieve enhanced climate resilience. It is also envisaged that through convergence of various development programmes, Climate Smart Village concept will also be demonstrated in each GP.

The scope of work for this assignment is:

1. Conduct a comprehensive baseline assessment focusing on agricultural practices, climate vulnerabilities, socio-economic conditions, existing resources, and availability of government schemes and programs.
2. Design and demonstrate model villages demonstrating comprehensive climate-smart practices.
3. Develop and promote climate-resilient crops and advanced agricultural techniques.
4. Develop infrastructure that supports climate-resilient agriculture and rural livelihoods.
5. Enhance biodiversity and soil health through agroecological farming practices.
6. Develop and implement systems and plans for managing climate risks.
7. Promote diversified livelihood options to reduce dependency on traditional farming.
8. Establish institutional mechanism to facilitate the replication and scaling up of successful practices across the district
9. Organize training and capacity building programmes to build capacity of women, farmers and other marginalized communities on climate-resilient agriculture practices
