UNDP kindly requests your quotation for the Renovation of Main Building, toilet block, side walk and prefab containers in UNDP, UNOCA Compound.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

  1. Introduction: The project involves renovating the UNDP Country office exterior walls, which includes isolating the walls and organizing the AC outdoor units on the same level. The scope of work includes excavation, application of isolation layers, and construction of a stone masonry wall.
  2. Purpose of the report: The report aims to provide the authority with a technically sound quote, its necessary details for the contractor to accurately estimate the scope of work, timeline, and costs of the project.
  3. Details of reconnaissance: The contractor needs to conduct a thorough assessment of the site's accessibility and material supply. Specific requirements for the assessment will be provided separately. The evaluation should consider any potential challenges or limitations that may impact the project execution.
  4. Location: The project is located at the UNOCA Compound UNDP CO, Jalalabad Road, Policharkhey, Kabul Province, Afghanistan.
  5. Site Visit: Contractors are advised to perform site inspections before providing a quote. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will specify the designated date for the site visit. This allows contractors to familiarize themselves with the site, assess existing conditions, and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  6. Time/Duration: The estimated time for completion of the entire project is four (04) months.

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

All the works should be done according to the Statement of Work, BoQ, technical specifications, and technical drawings. The project will be monitored and inspected by UNDP engineers. Everything, including samples, must obtain prior formal approval of the UNDP Engineer before use at the site. The site area and workers must comply with safety regulations. Below is the list of activities included in this project:

  • Mobilization: Deployment to the site, setting up of site areas for construction.
  • Excavation of the foundation around the building to construct a stone masonry wall for isolating the main building and re-arranging the AC outdoor units.
  • Replacing of the existing main GI water supply pipe system with new PPR pipes, including excavation of trenches up to the required depth, installation of pipes and backfilling of trenches.
  • Rectification of exterior wall paint at UNDP Country office and prefab containers.
  • Replacing of marble tiles at walkways and installation of curb stones along with sidewalks. This includes the excavation of existing sidewalks, compaction of the soil, and installation of new anti-slip marble stones.
  • Rectification of gutters and downspouts all-around the main building. This includes replacing of the damaged parts with new iron sheets and all associated activities, such as providing scaffolding and qualified skilled workers.
  • Installation of a new steel structure sunshades at main entrances along with all associated works.
  • Installation of a new aluminum UNDP logo with complete lighting installation and all related works.
  • Construction of a new ramp for ADA with handrail and all associated works.
  • Rectification of the existing revolving door and replacing of the damaged parts including all the associated works.
  • Installation of a concrete manhole with a suck-away system and directing the area water to the manhole.
  • Renovation of the main building toilet blocks and installation of a new handicap toilet system. This includes replacing of all the GI pipes with new PPR pipes as well as replacing of all toilet fixtures, including flexible connection pipes, valves, mirrors, floor drains, sinks, doors, and all the existing fixtures.
  • Renovation of the prefab toilet block, including the rectification of any damaged parts of the container, demolition of existing partitions and fixtures, and installation of a new water, sewer, and vent pipe system with all new fixtures, window and door installation.
  • Renovation of the existing prefab toilet block, including the demolition of all existing partitions, water and sewer system, complete electric wiring system, all existing fixtures, and construction/installation of a new kitchen system with all new fixtures, a new door, and PVC windows.
  • Demobilization: Demobilizing, cleaning, and handing over the clean site to the UNDP engineer.

 

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and all other items as necessary to complete the work as described in the scope of work (SOW) below. The contractor shall perform to the standards in the contract. The contractor shall conduct all work in a professional manner, in accordance with International Building Code IBC2009, AISC, and all related safety and steel codes. Refer to the plans and specifications for specifics. Each kind of material to be used in this project must be approved by UNDP engineer prior to use.

 

ORDER OF PRECEDENCE:

The following order of precedence is to be adhered to in the event of discrepancies between design documents, and any discrepancies are to be brought to the attention of the UNDP. The order of preference is as follows:

  • SoW
  • Drawings
  • BoQ
  • Technical specification

Materials. The contractor shall present samples or provide data sheets or product specifications of materials prior to purchase, as directed by the UNDP Engineer. All products used in the project are to have future maintenance plan in mind prior to purchase and installation.
