Introduction :
Development of Communication Campaign on selected laws of Sri Lanka.

The Support to Justice Sector Project (JURE), funded by the European Union, which is jointly implemented by UNDP and UNICEF Sri Lanka and facilitated by the Ministry of Justice was launched in 2022 under the SDG16 Portfolio. JURE contains a holistic package of support to the justice sector in Sri Lanka. It will be implemented in close consultation and partnership with key justice sector stakeholders including the Ministry of Justice, Legal Aid Commission, Government Analyst’s Department etc.

There remains a significant gap in knowledge/awareness on the part of the public on laws and existing avenues of redressal due to various reasons, in some instances because of the intricate language of the laws in the country.  In this context, sensitizing the public by making available simplified laws is a key priority to ensure access to justice. Citizens’ knowledge/ awareness about key civil, criminal and commercial laws could translate into promoting rule of law in the long-term.

Objective;
To design, conceptualize, execute, and monitor an awareness raising and advocacy campaign on selected 30 laws in Sri Lanka for a period of 6 months in all local languages.

 Please refer to the TOR for details.
