Introduction

The main objectives of integrating and operationalizing the business portal with newly proposed portal for the Ministry of Trade and Industry include.

a)      Dissemination of information: To develop a robust platform to ensure timely and effective trade and market information to the government, investors, and SMEs. This will enhance business plans and business-to-business linkages.

b)       Management of trade, industrial, and private sector: To establish a comprehensive database within the web portal to track the internal and cross-border trades in South Sudan. This database will enable efficient management and trade coordination, leading to improved regulations and informed investment and strengthening SMEs' access to market information.

c)      Data-driven decision-making: To enhance data management capabilities by implementing advanced tools and technologies to collect, analyze, and visualize critical data. This will enable evidence-based decision-making, helping policymakers and private sector actors make informed choices regarding business planning and policies.

d)      Information Sharing Platform: To create a centralized platform within the web portal for sharing publications, news, reports, and best practices related to South Sudan business activities. This will foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among business communities, enabling them to stay updated on the latest developments, trends, and effective approaches to accessing market information.

e)      Registration for companies: To develop a process within the web portal. This process will prioritize accurate data collection and include customization options for capturing essential biometric information. The collected data will be securely stored in a database with a graphical user interface (GUI) backend, allowing for easy search, verification, and data management. This streamlined registration process will enhance efficiency and enable accurate identification of each business entity.

f)       Cross border trade and Hosting: To ensure the security and availability of the web portal is implemented to secure database infrastructure and establish robust trade and private sector data. Additionally, dual hosting will be set up for one year to ensure uninterrupted access to the web portal, protect against potential data loss, and guarantee its availability in emergencies.

g)       Report and Data Dashboard: To facilitate real-time data analysis, reporting, and informed decision-making, we will create a comprehensive dashboard within the web portal. This dashboard will feature open-source graph plugins, enabling the visualization of key data related to the South Sudan trade and industrial activities. Moreover, we will develop a central large-screen displayable dashboard with customizable views designed for emergencies, ensuring rapid access to critical trade information.

Training of Trainers (ToT): To ensure effective utilization and sustainability of the web portal, we will conduct Training of Trainers sessions for the Ministry of Trade and Industry at the national and state levels. These sessions will equip the officials with the necessary skills to operate and update the web portal effectively. The training will cover portal management, data entry, dashboard usage, and data management. Multiple sessions will be conducted to accommodate different groups of officials, ensuring comprehensive knowledge transfer.
