Introduction
UNDP is seeking for a National firm to develop deforestation-free criteria for durian for the UNDP-EU Project "Integrated sustainable landscape management through deforestation-free jurisdiction project in Lam Dong and Dak Nong Viet Nam" as described in the attached documentation.

Description of assignment: The assignment aims to achieve the following objectives:
(1) Development of Vietnam Standard (TCVN) for Fresh Durian (Export): Update and refine the existing TCVN standards for fresh durian to reflect current industry practices and quality requirements. This includes establishing value parameters that accurately represent the quality characteristics of fresh durian from key production areas and harvest seasons, particularly focusing on the Ri6 and Dona/Monthong varieties.
(2) Development of Sustainable, Deforestation-Free Criteria for Durian Production: Based on the updated Vietnam standard for fresh durian, develop specific sustainability criteria that ensure deforestation-free value chains. These criteria will be applicable to durian production in the Di Linh district of Lam Dong province, as well as the Dak R’lap and Dak G’long districts in Dak Nong province. The goal is to create a framework that supports sustainable durian production practices while protecting forest ecosystems.
Period of assignment: 65 working days from September 2024 - October 2025.
