Introduction :

Vietnam is ranked 16th among the Earth's most biodiverse countries and is one of the ten richest canters of biodiversity in the world. However, extensive deforestation and forest degradation have led to a severe decline in biodiversity. The drastic decline of national forest cover exacerbated by intensive wildlife poaching and trading has brought over 300 wildlife species to the risk of extinction. Consequently, conservation has become a priority action on the national agenda since the late 1980s. In support of this, an extensive network of protected areas (PAs) has been established and is operational nationwide, with 164 terrestrial PAs, and five marine PAs declared by 2014.

UNDP Vietnam is looking for a qualified firm/institute/organization for the Assistance on Participatory Forest Restoration and Sustainable Forest Management in Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve.

The overall objective of this assignment is to restore 2,000 ha of the degraded forests in Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve through participatory forest tending promotion, forest protection and sustainable forest management measures following guidelines under Circular No. 29/2018/TT-BNNPTNT dated 16 Nov. 2018.
