Description of the Assignment: National expert-sociologist to support the survey of Ukrainian companies on EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

!PLEASE NOTE: the currency of the proposal is UAH. Furthermore, UNDP will enter into a contract with the selected national consultant in UAH.
Main objectives of the assignment: to provide expert support in development, implementation, and analysis of the survey on preparedness of Ukrainian companies for the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, ensuring its methodological rigor and the validity of results to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs by private sector in Ukraine.
It is expected that in terms of implementation of this assignment, the Consultant/Expert (Individual Contractor) will carry out the following activities:
1. Provide expert support in survey design and questionnaire development. UNDP will provide the Expert with drafts of concept note of the survey and two questionnaires (for large companies and for SMEs). The Expert shall review and refine the survey concept note and questionnaires to ensure clarity, relevance, and comprehensiveness; provide expert support on the the structure, wording, and sequencing of questions to maximize response rates and the reliability of data; ensure that the questionnaire is easy to use and aligns with the specific context of Ukrainian businesses. The Expert shall also provide recommendations on sampling strategies to ensure representativeness of the survey results.
2. Provide survey implementation support: develop guidelines for the distribution of the survey through various channels, including online platforms, business associations, and direct outreach; provide training/briefings to UNDP staff and partners involved in the survey distribution and data collection process. The Expert shall assist UNDP in monitoring the data collection process to ensure consistency and adherence to methodological standards; conduct quality checks to identify and address any issues related to data accuracy or completeness, and suggest strategies to mitigate potential biases in the responses if needed.
3. Analyze the collected data using appropriate statistical methods to identify key trends, gaps, and challenges faced by Ukrainian businesses in aligning with CSDDD. Draft a report summarizing the survey findings, including recommendations for policymakers and businesses. Contribute to the development of additional materials based on survey results, such as infographics, presentations, or policy briefs (will be provided by UNDP).
4. Present the survey findings at multi-stakeholder meeting. Assist UNDP in the dissemination of the survey results to relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, business associations, and international partners.
All final products should be produced according to the plan outlined under each deliverable as specified in the Terms of reference.
