Introduction
Background:
According to satellite images from UNOSAT, 63 percent of all structures have been damaged or destroyed after 10 months of conflict in Gaza.
The humanitarian situation reports and assessments indicate that there is a chronic shortage of housing units, clinics, school buildings and other structures. This REOI aims to secure the potential supply and construction of facilities using prefabricated materials is part of a broader strategy to address the immediate needs of the people affected by the conflict.
The shelters must be designed to meet international safety standards, comply with local regulations, and align with the cultural and environmental conditions specific to Gaza Strip, while being cost-effective. This includes considerations for family privacy, climate resilience, and the unique needs of communal living. The selected suppliers must demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality, durable units that are adaptable to the fluctuating demands of the conflict, including scalability and flexibility in their operations.
The aim of this Expression of Interest therefore is to assess the market availability and identify prospective manufacturers and authorized distributors with the expertise, resources, and commitment to supply and construct pre-fabricated structures that address the immediate housing, clinical, and educational needs for Gaza Strip under a Long Term Agreement (LTA)
