Introduction
UNDP is working closely with cities and local governments to showcase how they are actively contributing to implement Agenda 2030, accelerating transformative action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for all, and everywhere. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting the Great Amman Municipality to implement its “Amman is listening” project, one of the winners of the 2021 Global Mayors Challenge. Amman is listening is an open data participatory platform designed to better understand residents’ needs and providing feedback on services and events in their immediate vicinity. The platform will enable Amman’s residents to provide real-time feedback on critical city services, contributing to optimize service provision and manage crises by translating resident-driven data into knowledge to contribute to local decision-making.
