Description of the AssignmentTHE NATIONAL GENDER AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

 Period of assignment/services : 45 working days spread over 5 months until End of March 2025.

Scope of Work:

UNDP is seeking the services of an Individual Consultant (IC) to lead the gender analysis and stakeholder engagement process and provide support in the development of the project documents and its annexes, including the social and environmental risk management instruments, and conservation and livelihoods enhancement strategies framework for the Project.

The consultant will develop mandatory project Annexes related to gender mainstreaming plan, comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan and aligned with application of social and environmental safeguards, in line with UNDP’s and GEFs and national policies and requirements, as appropriate. The consultant will be a gender and social inclusion expert with experience in-depth gender analysis. He/She will also be responsible for developing the Stakeholder Engagement Plan in the national context, which lists the main potential partners and stakeholder to the Project at national level, to be confirmed following selection and capacities assessments. Stakeholder engagement will focus on negotiating and generating buy-in and appropriation by specific partners and beneficiaries who are taking responsibility for certain activities.

Consultations will include engagement with rural communities from whom Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) will be sought for certain project activities, and a diversity of other project partners and stakeholders.  

The National Gender and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist consultant will work closely with other experts appointed on the project during the PPG phase and contribute appropriately to the overall deliverables
