Description of the Assignment:
The purpose of this assignment is to lead the process of developing a new National Vision. As part of the process, the Coordinator/lead consultant will make assessment of Lesotho’s development challenges, manage thematic consultants, build capacity of the secretariat, and facilitate the preparation of the new national vision for Lesotho.
Assess Lesotho’s internal and external environment.
Assess and incorporate the recommendations and lessons learned from the review of the national vision.
Lead national dialogue, sectoral and district stakeholder consultations.
Synthesise results of the consultations and identify strategic direction for the national vision.
Capacitate the secretariat on foresight and scenario planning.
Develop periodic progress reports for management and structures.
Assisting the Director PSP to discharge her reporting duties of periodic progress reporting to MFDP management.
Monitor progress periodically to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Mentor, guide and provide technical support to the Secretariat, as required, with a view of strengthening their capacity to discharge their functions.
Produce a New Long-Term Vision document for Lesotho reflecting the consensus that would have emerged from the consultations.
Period of assignment/services : 290 days in a period of 12 Months
