Introduction

The Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Programme (PICAP) is inviting licensed insurance companies in the Pacific region to pilot climate and disaster risk insurance, focusing on increasing access for women and underserved communities. Supported by the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), the initiative aims to develop inclusive Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI) solutions. Key activities include designing parametric insurance products, enhancing staff training and financial literacy for vulnerable groups, and utilizing digital platforms to improve accessibility. The program also involves implementing cloud-based systems to streamline processes and scaling successful products while monitoring their impact.
