Introduction

Scope of Tender: Consultancy service to conduct overall assessment on gender equality and non-discrimination among private sectors’ workforce contributing towards business and human rights initiative in Nepal.


UNDP Nepal Advancing Business and Human Rights (Initiation Plan) is seeking application from qualified firm/company to to conduct overall assessment on gender equality and non-discrimination among private sectors’ workforce contributing towards business and human rights initiative in Nepal.

 

This assessment seeks contributing to the project’s results with the following objectives:

 

Ø  To evaluate the existing policies, practices, and organizational culture related to gender equality and non-discrimination within the selected private sector companies.

Ø  To conduct an assessment to analyze and evaluate the current workforce status among private sectors based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, caste, LGBTQI+, religion, geographic region, person with disability and language preference, or similar other grounds.

Ø  To identify barriers that prevent equitable participation and advancement of all employees, particularly women and other marginalized groups such as Dalits, LGBTQI and other sexual orientation.

Ø  To assess the level of awareness and implementation of national and international standards and regulations on gender equality and non-discrimination, with particular emphasis on the national action plan on business and human rights.

Ø  To provide recommendations for strengthening gender equality and non-discrimination practices within the private sector and enhance grievance handling mechanisms. Use as supplement to the training manual drafting process.

Ø  To contribute towards fostering harmonized workforce, promote diversity, and ethical business practices respecting human rights of all.
