OBJECTIVE

UNDP Gambia is seeking to recruit a National individual consultant to conduct a comprehensive scoping study of existing peace structures – formal and informal, state, and non-state actors, local or traditional mechanisms to guide the establishment and operationalization of a decentralized PRC in The Gambia. The primary objective of this consultancy is to conduct a comprehensive scoping study of the existing peace structures in The Gambia. The study aims to:

• Map and identify all formal and informal peace structures and mechanisms.
  

• Assess the age and gender sensitiveness, including the effectiveness, strengths, and weaknesses of these structures, and identify gaps and opportunities for strengthening these peace structures.
• Establish clear linkages between the PRC as a national body and local level peace structures, including relevant state and non-state institutions for effective collective response actions to identified threats.
• Provide actionable recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of peace structures and ensuring efficient coordination mechanisms between the PRC and various peace structures in The Gambia.
