Description of the Assignment:  

The consultant will provide technical advice to the Programme across the thematic areas below:  

2. Building financial resilience of MSMEs – The project expects to develop, and pilot test an SME focused disaster risk insurance product, however, depending on the outcome of the market research and willingness of insurers, the exact nature of the product may be different. The scope includes conducting assessment, building partnerships, and managing the product development and implementation processes.  
3. Integrated financial and digital solutions for addressing and minimizing loss and damage for communities and small businesses. The project plans to assess the needs and deploy UNCDF’s tools, blended financing and CDRFI solutions to build financial resilience at community and local business levels.

The consultant will be responsible to work closely with UNCDF partners at regional and national level to achieve the programme outcomes by providing regular technical assistance and facilitating partnerships related to innovations, inclusion, and resilience. 

 

Period of assignment/services: 22^nd November 2024 to 21 November 2025 (Date can be adjusted at time of contract issuance)
