Introduction
As one of the Implementing Agencies of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), UNDP is supporting developing countries to develop and implement projects aimed at safely reducing and eliminating Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and toxic chemicals.
UNDP Viet Nam is currently seeking the services of a National PPG Development Specialist for Coordination and Development of UNDP-GEF Project Document and CEO Endorsement Form for Chemicals Management in Viet Nam for a project named Global Electronics Management (GEM) Program Child Project in Viet Nam, as described in this documentation.
Duty Station: Hanoi – Viet Nam.
Description of the Assignment: The National PPG Development Specialist will serve as the lead national consultant responsible for overseeing and coordinating the PPG process throughout its entire duration, ensuring the successful development of the UNDP-GEF Project Document (ProDoc) and the GEF CEO Endorsement Form.
The Specialist will work in close collaboration with the international coordinator and a team of national and international consultants, bringing recognized expertise in chemicals management. The Specialist will also be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of national consultants, managing the hiring of necessary consultancies, and ensuring the timely delivery of critical project information.
Additionally, the Specialist will coordinate consultation processes with national and international project partners and stakeholders throughout the PPG phase, facilitating effective communication among all consultants and maintaining a strong connection with the international coordinator.
Period of assignment/services (if applicable): 50 working days from November 2024 - July 2025.
